Rare Patek watch won’t hang around long
We are so excited to share some news about an extremely rare watch that we have available to buy now!
The stunning new Nautilus 5711/1A-014 from Patek Philippe has an eye-catching olive green dial and should impress fans of the cult watch.
This timepiece is currently trading for around ten times the retail value as the steel collection is rumoured to be discontinued in 12 months’ time.
Here at Luxe watches we’ve only ever seen around three of these for sale worldwide, so we’re thrilled to have one in stock.
The timeless Nautilus
Causing quite the stir when it debuted in 1976, the Nautilus became a different class of timepieces. Gerald Genta took inspiration from portholes of transatlantic liners and sketched his initial design in a few minutes. He even took the idea for its name from the submarine commanded by Captain Nemo in 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.
It was a luxury sports watch like no other then and today, the model is as popular as ever, with people happy to wait on ten-year waiting lists to get their hands on one.
However, Patek Philippe has announced that the steel 5711 Nautilus family, which was introduced in 2006, will be discontinued next year.
Olive the new dial
This is the first ever green-dialed Nautilus watch, and if you’ve been keeping an eye on our blogs of late, you’ll know that green is en vogue for luxury timepieces.
The new olive green sunburst dial is really attractive – quite the change from the navy blue that went before – but it’s no less pleasing on the eye.It is horizontally embossed and has applied gold hour markers and matching hands with luminescent coating.
Instant recognition
This sporty watch is a classic with its instantly recognisable case and bezel and with alternating satin and polished manual finishing, it’s quite the showstopper. The bracelet fastens with a double-folding clasp.
Water resistant to 120 metres, this stainless steel model offers a 40mm case and has a self-winding calibre 26-330SC that powers many of the Nautilus family, offering an impressive 45-hour power reserve. And it’s all visible through a transparent sapphire crystal case-back.
Diamond version
This model also comes in a diamond-set version, reference 5711-1300-001, which features the olive green dial.
