A guide to Olympics 2024 watches

In a week’s time, 329 medals will be contested for over 16 days of intense competition.

Yes, the 2024 Olympics Games, this year held in Paris, is nearly upon us with Team GB entering 327 athletes.

Keeping on top of all of the most important timings, it’s Omega, which has held the very crucial role of timekeeper of the Olympics since 1932.

The role has evolved from a single timekeeper with 30 chronographs to a team of 550 using advanced technology accurate to a millionth of a second.

To celebrate its Olympic legacy, Omega releases special numbered edition watches every two years, featuring Olympic-inspired designs.

For Paris 2024, Omega is introducing five Olympic watches: a special edition Seamaster Diver 300M and four Speedmaster Chronoscope models. Let’s check them out below.

Paris 2024 Special Edition Seamaster Diver 300M

With a nod to the official colour scheme this games – gold, black and white – Omega has run with the theme across its five models along with some very tasteful features.

The Seamaster, a limited edition, is available in two-tone, with a stainless steel case and bracelet. We love the 19K Moonshine Gold – and this is what Omega has used for the diver’s bezel.

The seconds hand features the Paris 2024 Olympic flame logo whilst a ceramic white dial carries a date display at six o’clock with stylised numerals the same as the  official font for this year’s games.

The iconic wave dial is white ceramic with a motif and gold Super-LumiNova hour markers and skeleton hands which match the bezel, while the case features a gold medallion with the Olympic rings and Paris 2024 writing.

With a 300 meter depth rating and co-axial calibre 8800 movement, it’s the perfect offering for the event.

To ensure this Olympic and Paralympic Games timepiece remains a keepsake for years to come, it is delivered inside a white presentation box, complete with Paris 2024 detailing that matches the OMEGA Countdown Clock at Port de la Bourdonnais.

Speedmaster Chronograph models

The Chronoscope collection merges the classic Speedmaster design with Omega’s 1940s chronograph wristwatches. Each timepiece reveals a trio of timing scales on the dial.

We have a steel on steel, steel on leather strap, Moonshine ™ Gold and Moonshine ™ on a leather strap.

The 43mm model is crafted from stainless steel and has a silvery white opaline dial, blackened subdials, and a black aluminum bezel with a tachymeter scale.  The Arabic numerals and hands are in 18K Moonshine™ Gold, with PVD Moonshine™ Gold-treated leaf-shaped hands.

The dial showcases three dark grey timing scales in a 1940s “snail” design: a tachymeter, a pulsometer, and a telemeter. The caseback includes a commemorative medallion with the Paris 2024 logo and Olympic Rings.

This watch comes with a stainless steel bracelet featuring Omega’s comfort release adjustment system. It has a small-seconds counter at nine o’clock and a 60-minute and 12-hour recorder at three o’clock. Powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 9908, it combines vintage elegance with modern precision.
