Game, set, match: The watches dominating tennis courts this season

Luxury watches have become an unmistakable presence on the world’s tennis courts, where precision, performance and prestige naturally align.

With the Australian Open just closed in Melbourne, attention has once again extended beyond the baseline to the wrists of the sport’s biggest names, including Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Carlos Alcaraz.

With the hard-court season giving way to clay, all eyes now turn to Roland-Garros in Paris for the French Open, where tennis and high watchmaking will continue to share the spotlight.

So who is wearing what in the world of watches?

Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic was spotted wearing the Big Bang Tourbillon Novak Djokovic GOAT Edition by Hublot, a timepiece that effortlessly blends technical ingenuity with tennis-inspired design.

The 44mm case comes in striking green, blue, and red variations, crafted from a composite material incorporating Lacoste polo shirts and Head tennis racquets.

Even the movement pays tribute to the sport, with a 3D mainplate echoing racquet strings and a power reserve barrel shaped like a tennis ball. That’s game, set, match for haute horology.

Alex de Minaur

The Aussie star has been spotted wearing the Jaeger‑LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph – very cool sporty sophistication.

With a stainless‑steel case with a sunray‑brushed blue‑grey dial on the front the genius thing about this watch is its reversible case –  a design born from the original 1930s model meant to protect the dial during polo matches.

On de Minaur’s watch, the reverse side reveals a skeletonised chronograph dial, showcasing the inner workings of Jaeger‑LeCoultre’s manual‑winding Calibre 860 movement.

This dual‑dial setup means you get both a clean everyday look and a more technical chronograph display, featuring a retrograde 30‑minute counter and central seconds – a clever use of space given the Reverso’s rectangular shape.

Jannik Sinner

The Italian has been spied with a Rolex Daytona 126515LN on his wrist – quite an elegant watch. The 40 mm Everose gold case pairs with a Sundust dial and black subdials, complemented by a black Cerachrom tachymeter bezel and sporty Oysterflex bracelet.

Powered by Rolex’s in-house Calibre 4131, it offers precise chronograph functionality while exuding refined style and making a statement both on and off the court.

Carlos Alcaraz

The Olympian wore the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 116518LN‑0076, a striking expression of Rolex’s iconic chronograph heritage with contemporary flair.

Encased in 18 ct yellow gold and paired with a sporty Oysterflex bracelet, this 40 mm Daytona features a captivating meteorite dial framed by a black Cerachrom tachymeter bezel.

Powered by Rolex’s in‑house Calibre 4130 automatic movement with a 72‑hour power reserve, it’s become part of Alcaraz’s signature look during major victories and celebrations.

Mirka Federer

A former tennis star herself, Mirka Federer watched husband Roger in an exhibition match at the Rod Laver arena and the price of the 2025-release watch she wore was eye-watering, coming in at £550,000. It was a Rolex Daytona watch with a diamond-encrusted 18 ct yellow gold bezel.

What was really stunning about it, was the turquoise stone face that features three black stone dials. The hours on the watch are marked by baguette diamonds, again adding to the chronograph’s glamorous aesthetic.
