Hublot releases limited edition timepiece for the UEFA Champions League
As fans eagerly await Round 16 of the UEFA Champions League this Thursday (March 12) Hublot presents a limited edition timepiece in honour of the competition.
As the official licensed watch partner of the contest, Hublot has created the stunning blue ceramic Classic Fusion AeroFusion Chronograph UEFA Champions League watches.
But football fans will be lucky to get hold of one, as only 100 have been produced.
Sophisticated offering
The striking watch has a polish and satin-finished ceramic 45mm case and bezel and comes complete with matching blue rubber strap.
As quite a sophisticated offering from the Swiss luxury watch maker – compared to the dazzling range it unveiled for 2020 at LMVH’s exhibition on Dubai back in January – the crown, chronograph pushers and bezel screws all match the blue perfectly in polished titanium.
We love the 3D dial that’s furnished with applied hour markers and twin counters for the minutes and running seconds, appearing to float over the movement.
The UEFA watch, which boasts a 42-hour power reserve, features the Hublot HUB1155 automatic chronograph calibre. Finishing off the watch’s striking look is a blue ceramic case back with a sapphire crystal insert engraved with the UEFA Champions League logo.
Kicking off another special relationship
Hublot has also announced that it is now the official partner of the UEFA Women’s EURO 2021™ and all UEFA Women’s football competitions. The news means that Hublot is now a partner of all UEFA-men’s and women’s senior club and international football competitions.
Hublot was the Swiss watch brand to get involved in football. In 2006, it sponsored the Swiss national team, and then in 2008 began a long-standing partnership with UEFA by becoming the ‘Official Timekeeper’ for UEFA Euro 2008.
Since then, Hublot has timed every UEFA European Championships, and will return this summer for the eagerly anticipated UEFA Euro 2020 tournament, which for the first time takes place across Europe in 12 host cities – unless Coronavirus dictates otherwise!
Hublot has also been the ‘Official Timekeeper’ of the FIFA World Cup since 2010 and timed the tournaments in South Africa, Brazil and Russia. The watchmaker became the official licensed watch partner of the UEFA Champions League in 2015.
The first legs of the UEFA 16th Round are scheduled for 12 March, with the second legs on 19 March. Kick-offs are split between 18:55 CET and 21:00 CET, as organised by the UEFA administration.
