Podium finish… Luxe Watches is sporting a rare Richard Mille timepiece

Yet another exciting offering has landed with us here at Luxe Watches – and this one is limited to just 150 pieces.

We’re extremely lucky to now have in stock, an unworn white Richard Mille RM 061-01 ‘Yohan Blake Ultimate’ Edition.

Jamaican 100 and 200-metre sprinter Yohan Blake reported last year that he’d been working with Richard Mille on a new model which would be ready in time for Tokyo 2020 Olympics – which has now been cancelled due to COVID-19.

The World Championship gold medallist had announced that the games would have been his last professional Olympics so only time will tell if he decides to go for his final hoorah next year instead.

But two years of close collaboration have meant a limited edition watch which is every athlete’s friend, with a 55-hour power reserve and water resistance to 50 metres.

Tough construction

The ultimate edition boasts a Quartz TPT case and Carbon TPT crown, bezel and caseback with a caseband crafted out of Carbon TPT. 

The composites used to make these materials is quite incredible. Basically, the material for each bezel and caseback is made up of 600 woven layers of Quartz TPT and Carbon TPT – each  creating a unique pattern on each component.

The base plate and bridges are also constructed in grade-5 titanium with black PVD treatment. This provides excellent rigidity to the entire assembly, as well as the precise surface flatness essential for the perfect functioning of the gear train.

Sporting companion

Perfect for athletes, this watch can endure quite a lot as it’s robust by nature. 

Its free-sprung balance offers better reliability when subjected to shock and so you can expect better chronometric results over time.Small adjustable weights on the balance mean that a more accurate adjustment is possible.

Anti-glare coating provides great protection while you can also check out the impressive calibre within the watch and a white rubber strap keeps everything looking fresh and slick.

At just 3.15mm thick and weighing just over 4 grams, this watch is a fabulously lightweight option for sports fans.

Vigorous testing

And the testing on this watch will really impress you as it can withstand forces of up to 5000gs. To put that into perspective, an astronaut would experience a force of around 3gs during lift-off.

Even the skeletonised baseplate and bridges were subject to intensive testing to check their resistance. The spine screws, made of grade 5 titanium, are unaffected by physical manipulation too, making the watch an extremely durable offering.
