Watches of Jenson Button
Former Formula One driver Jenson Button failed his first attempt to get a licence to drive an everyday road car because he terrified the examiner by zooming through a tiny gap in traffic.
Yet he won the British Formula Ford Championship in 1998, using the same nifty technique.
And just a year later Frank Williams gave him a random call inviting him to test a Williams F1 car – and so his career began.
Button, who won 15 grand prix and appeared on the podium more than 50 times during a 17-year F1 career, retired from the sport in 2017 but is now trying his hand at stock car racing. He’s also enjoyed competing in endurance races including the Le Mans 24 Hours – an event which Rolex has supported as the official timepiece since 2001.
The dad-of-two is known to be a fan of luxury timepieces, so let’s check out the Jenson Button watch collection:
Jenson Button Rolex watches
Button is now a Rolex ambassador but the love of the brand goes back a long way. Button treated himself to a steel Rolex Daytona when he became a Formula 1 driver.
Then he gifted his dad a rose gold Cosmograph Daytona on his 70th birthday – which he has now inherited back and wears often as it’s his favorite watch.
GMT Master II with meteorite dial
As the only non-Daytona Button owns, this 40mm white gold GMT Master II with meteorite dial is stunning.
This one features a unidirectional rotatable bezel with a red and blue insert, winder, Oyster bracelet and deployant clasp, sapphire crystal glass, automatic movement and it’s waterproof up to 100 metres.
Richard Mille RM 011 Black Night
Button has also been spied wearing a Richard Mille RM 011 Flyback Chronograph Black Night. It features a large date window at the top of the dial, smaller month display and a chronograph function.
The case is made from the inhouse signature NTPT Carbon and is 50mm in diameter. The carbon is exceptionally strong and light, made up of multiple layers of parallel filaments obtained by dividing carbon fibres. NTPT is also used for the crown and the pushers.
The watch is finished with sapphire crystal display glass and caseback and matched with a black rubber strap with black DLC titanium buckle.
TAG Heuer Carrera
Button appeared on the podium wearing his TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887, a modern version of the 1964 Carrera designed by Jack Heuer.
The Calibre 1887 has a polished steel case and complex mechanical 39-jewel movement made of 320 components. Other features include anti-reflective treatment for better readability, and a scratch resistant sapphire crystal case back to marvel at the movement in motion. It includes a date display at 6 o’clock, and a tachymeter scale.
