Geneva is also where the final assembly of all Rolex watches takes place. With components sourced from the brand’s three other sites, each watch comes to life through a meticulous assembly process that upholds the brand’s iconic standards.

Rolex, known for its unwavering standards, spares no effort in cherry-picking only flawless gemstones. Every stone is meticulously chosen.

Bienne, Switzerland ~ movements

With a rich history deeply rooted in the prestigious Aeglar Company, this facility has consistently embodied the pinnacle of precision and craftsmanship. 

Once the home for Aeglar’s impeccable calibers, the Bienne facility caught the attention of Rolex, leading to a momentous acquisition in 2004 that marked a significant turning point for both brands.

Today, within the bustling confines of the Bienne facility, over 2,000 skilled artisans pour their expertise into the intricate production of the inner workings that drive every Rolex timepiece.

Rolex produces each of its calibres here, in-house. Additionally, each of the movements is assembled by hand.

From intricate calibers to the patented Paraflex shock absorbers and Parachrom balance springs, each component undergoes a meticulous process to ensure unparalleled quality and accuracy.

With tolerances measured in mere microns, every component is meticulously crafted to comply with the exacting standards set forth by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).

Tucked in an 11-story building (with six hidden underground for extra security) this state-of-the-art hub buzzes with activity, ensuring that each component is meticulously accounted for and seamlessly integrated into the intricate Rolex timepieces. 

Security scanners, equipped with the latest iris-scanning technology, safeguard the premises, underlining the brand’s unwavering dedication to protecting its craft and legacy.

However, perhaps the most intriguing aspect of this facility is the famed pirate gold foundry, an essential cornerstone in the production of Rolex’s signature gold variations. 

From the classic yellow gold to the elegant white gold and the exquisite Everose gold, cherished by Rolex aficionados for its distinctive pink hue, each piece tells a tale of meticulous craftsmanship and ingenuity.

Not limited to gold alone, the Plan-les-Ouates location boasts the production of the company’s renowned 904L stainless steel, a material known for its exceptional resistance to corrosion.
